Turkish Present Continuous Tense: -iyor
Şimdiki Zaman (-iyor)
What is happening now: geliyorum, yapıyor
What is happening now, or these days, takes -iyor on the verb stem, then the person ending: gel → geliyorum (I am coming), geliyorsun, geliyor, geliyoruz, geliyorsunuz, geliyorlar. It is the first tense you learn, and the one you will use most.
Only the vowel before -yor changes, by four-way harmony: geliyor, bakıyor, okuyor, görüyor. The -yor part never changes, and neither do the person endings that follow it.
When the stem ends in a vowel, that vowel drops before -iyor: bekle → bekliyor, başla → başlıyor, oku → okuyor. The negative puts -me before it: gelmiyorum. The question moves the person onto the particle: geliyor musun?

Watch out
The stem vowel drops before -iyor
gelme + iyor is not “gelmeiyor” but gelmiyor. Likewise başla + ıyor → başlıyor, bekle + iyor → bekliyor.
Good to know
-yor never changes
The -yor itself is invariant; harmony only picks the vowel in front of it: -ıyor, -iyor, -uyor, -üyor.
