İle in Turkish: With and By (-le, -la)

ile / -le, -la

Expressing company, instrument, or means of transport: araba ile, otobüsle, arabayla

ile says with, or by: with a friend, with a pen, by bus. It covers company, tool and transport in one word: arkadaşım ile, kalem ile, otobüs ile.

In everyday speech it fuses onto the noun as -le or -la by two-way harmony: otobüsle, kalemle, arabayla. After a vowel the bridge y steps in: araba → arabayla, kedi → kediyle.

With a pronoun it attaches to the owner form: benimle, seninle, onunla, bizimle, sizinle. Only onlar stays plain: onlarla.
